The goal for each program participant is preparedness for competitive employment after graduation. To help our students reach that goal, Transition to work provides real-life work experience combined with employability and independent-living skills training to help young people with significant disabilities make successful transitions to productive adult life. The Transitions Program model involves extensive skills training and career exploration, innovative adaptations, long-term job coaching, and continuous feedback from teachers, skills trainers, and employers. Post graduation, it is the goal that students with significant intellectual disabilities are better prepared to be employed in nontraditional, complex, and rewarding jobs.
