Arbor School of Central Florida Board of Directors

Nicholas Maroulis, Pharm.D.
Board Chair

Dr. Maroulis completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy, with his undergraduate studies at Florida A&M. Prior to his current position at BioPlus, he spent more than a decade as the Director of Pharmacy Services for BioPlus. In addition, he has held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy since 2010.

Dr. Maroulis has been nominated for numerous awards, including URAC’s 2013 Health Care Stars! Award and the 2013 Next Generation Pharmacist Award. He has also been a dedicated member of the community, organizing blood drives (2010-2012), serving on the Parent Advisory Board for Florida Hospital for Children (2015-2016), and serving on the board of the Arbor School of Central Florida (2015-present) and is currently acting as the Board Chairman, as well as participating in charity fundraising bicycle rides, including the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure and the Camp Boggy Creek Annual Challenge Ride.

Dr. Maroulis and his wife Kimberly have been married since 1997 and they are raising 3 young men Nathanael (10 years old), Ian (13 years old and Elijah (17 years old) who also attends Arbor School of Central Florida.

 

Ron Popchock
Board Treasurer

Mr. Popchock a Detroit native who has lived in Florida for 19 years. He has a Bachelors in Degree in Accounting from Walsh University. He has been working at Marriott Vacations Worldwide for 17 years and has been a Senior Director of Accounting Services for the last 10 years. Ron and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 17 years. They have a son, Joe (14), and a daughter, Riley (12). Joe is a student at the Arbor School and has been going to the school for 5 years.

 

Robie Stafford
Member at Large

Mr. Stafford is a Florida born, 20 year Orlando resident and UCF grad. He is an investment advisor representative practicing in VA., N.C., TX., and FL. He came to Arbor after noticing a parallel with his 8 years of casual fund raising support for UCF CARD/PALS helping friends and their families. Aside from my practice he stays busy volunteering and seeking new resources for the school.

 

Alexis Holliday
Member at Large

Originally from Miami, Alexis graduated from Mt Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages and Cultures. For the past two years, Alexis has worked as the Foundation Manager for the North Florida PGA. Currently, she is studying at Rollins College for a Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

 

Leslie Horenian
Member at Large

Ms. Horenian is a retired dual certified Special Ed./ ESOL, K-5 teacher. She began teaching career in San Francisco, CA and ended her career teaching in Miami, FL.. She is a parent of one son, who has dyslexia, which guided her into the field of Special Education. She wanted to know how to serve her son’s needs and other students who needed special consideration on their educational journey. Her son is now an engineer, and she desires to donate her time and expertise to those whom she can assist.

 

Michelle Peffen
Member at Large

Ms. Peffen was born and raised in Orlando and recently returned to pursue her MBA at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Leadership and Management from Boston College in 2018. She studied abroad in London at University College London for the entire 2016-2017 school year.
Currently, she serves as a board member for the Arbor School of Central Florida. Throughout her four years at Boston College, she volunteered at the Campus School and worked with children with disabilities on a weekly basis. During her final two years in high school she volunteered for Best Buddies of Central Florida. She is passionate about education and women’s empowerment, and loves to travel.
