Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Special Education Teacher at elementary, middle, and high school levels. The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, managing student behavior, and communicating regularly with parents and faculty. The teacher will also be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.

Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other disabilities is highly desirable. Successful candidates will be passionate about working with special needs students and possess the skills and experience necessary to create a positive and productive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of teaching students with disabilities
• Special education certification or degree
• Teaching experience preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans
• Experience with behavior management techniques and strategies
• Experience with assistive technology
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or related field

Position Overview:

We seek a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. Key Responsibilities:

- Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and implementing instructional strategies tailored to students' needs.

- Support students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, mathematics, and other subjects as required.

- Provide students with one-on-one or small group support to reinforce learning objectives and promote academic growth.

- Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teachers, and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote student success and well-being.

- Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

- Provide supervision and support during classroom activities, field trips, and other school events as needed.

Qualifications:

- AA degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.

- Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.

- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and educational interventions for students with special needs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.

- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.

- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

The teacher will develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, manage student behavior, and communicate regularly with parents and faculty. The teacher will also create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or related field
• Experience and knowledge of teaching students with disabilities
• Experience with STEAM  & Project-Based Learning a plus
• Flexible, Open to New Ideas, Team Player
• Florida State Teaching Certification or Temporary Certification
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans
• Experience with behavior management techniques and strategies
• Experience with assistive technology
